About City

Paris, the capital of France, is known as the "City of Light" and one of the most iconic cities in the world. Rich in history, culture, and art, it offers an inspiring backdrop for the 6th International Conference on Physics. Home to world-renowned landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and the Champs-Élysées, Paris blends timeless beauty with cutting-edge innovation.

The city is a global center for science, technology, and research, hosting numerous prestigious institutions and universities. As a hub of intellectual activity, Paris provides an ideal setting for discussions that explore the frontiers of physics and the hidden dimensions of our universe.

In addition to its academic appeal, Paris boasts a vibrant culture, exceptional cuisine, and diverse entertainment options, making it the perfect destination for both professional and personal enrichment. Whether you're strolling along the Seine River or exploring the historic neighborhoods, Paris promises an unforgettable experience.

Paris, the capital of France, is one of the most visited cities in the world. Known for its rich history, iconic landmarks, world-class cuisine, and romantic charm, Paris is a dream destination for many. For most international travelers, the journey begins at one of the city's major airports—Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), located about 25 kilometers northeast of central Paris, or Orly Airport (ORY), situated to the south.

Charles de Gaulle Airport is the primary international gateway to Paris and the second busiest airport in Europe. It has three main terminals (T1, T2, and T3) and can feel overwhelming, especially during peak travel seasons. Upon arrival, passengers proceed through immigration (for non-Schengen arrivals), followed by baggage claim and customs. English is widely spoken by airport staff, and signage is available in both French and English, making navigation manageable even for first-time visitors.

Orly Airport is smaller and serves more domestic and European flights, but has been modernized in recent years to improve the passenger experience. Like CDG, it offers essential services such as currency exchange, SIM card vendors, tourist information counters, and transportation options.

Getting from the airport to the heart of Paris is straightforward, with several options depending on budget and convenience. From Charles de Gaulle, one of the most popular methods is the RER B commuter train, which connects the airport directly to central Paris in about 30 to 40 minutes. The train stops at key stations such as Gare du Nord, Châtelet–Les Halles, and Saint-Michel – Notre-Dame. Tickets cost around €11.

Other options include airport shuttle buses (like Le Bus Direct or Roissybus), taxis (a flat rate of about €55 to the Right Bank and €62 to the Left Bank), or ride-hailing services like Uber. Taxis are readily available at official stands, and travelers should avoid unlicensed drivers offering rides inside the terminals.

From Orly, passengers can take the Orlyval light rail to connect with the RER B line, or board buses like the Orlybus or tramways that link to the city’s metro system. Taxis from Orly have fixed rates as well—about €35–€40 depending on the destination.

To make the most of your arrival in Paris, it’s helpful to carry some euros in cash, especially for small purchases. A travel SIM card or portable Wi-Fi device can also make navigating the city much easier. Lastly, take time to enjoy the journey into Paris—whether by train, taxi, or bus—because even from the airport, you’re stepping into one of the most enchanting cities in the world.
